First Things: The maternal imaginary in literature, art and psychoanalysis

This study combines close readings with theoretical concerns, in an examination of the many forms taken by the mythic of phantasmic mother in literary, psychoanalytical and artistic representations. It explores the ways maternal imaginary informs both unconscious processes and signifying practices.
