| Extra Info | : | This presentation contrasts open and polyamorous relationships with the more familiar closed monogamous coupling that is so much at the heart of couple psychoanalytic theory and practice. It draws distinctions between open and poly relationships and examines tension that arise in both. Consideration will also be given to the inclusion of children within these relationship configurations as well as the types of relationships that challenge the primacy of mono-normativity. The presentation will also focus particular attention on working with difference and the utilization of transference and countertransference in this complex area of practice. |
