Event:The Craft of Writing the Psychodynamic Case Study
Venue:Online
Date:13/02/2026
Duration:2 - 5pm GMT
Extra Info:A two-part professional workshop with individual feedback with Aner Govrin

This comprehensive workshop addresses a critical gap in psychotherapy training by focusing systematically on the craft of writing psychodynamic case studies. While clinicians devote hundreds of hours to supervised clinical practice, the essential skill of documenting and presenting therapeutic work in written form is rarely taught with the rigor it deserves.

This workshop offers a structured and creative approach to clinical writing, drawing on the instructor's forthcoming publication and decades of clinical experience. Participants will develop both the technical competencies and creative capacities necessary to turn complex therapeutic encounters into compelling, ethically sound case narratives.

Beyond technical instruction in writing, this workshop will also help to reshape how clinicians think about case studies. Participants will learn to recognise and embrace the inherent complexity of representing therapeutic experience, the inevitable gaps between lived clinical moments and written documentation, the ethical tensions between disclosure and protection, and the creative possibilities within these constraints. This deeper understanding transforms case writing from a bureaucratic requirement into a meaningful form of clinical reflection and professional development.

The workshop consists of two three-hour sessions scheduled five weeks apart, allowing time for reflection, writing development, and optional feedback consultation between meetings.
