Freud and the Rat Man on Stage brings to life the famous case of obsessive neurosis that Freud presented at the 1908 Psychoanalysis Congress. The play tells the story of Ernst Lanzer, a young lawyer torn between forbidden love and family obligations, while dealing with obsessive thoughts and rituals linked to childhood traumas and complex family relationships.

The audience is invited into Freud’s consulting room to follow the therapeutic process, from the first signs of symptoms to their resolution. The play uses theatrical language to explore how the unconscious works and highlights the central role of transference. Freud’s interpretations guide the patient toward understanding and relieving his suffering.

With an approach that combines art and psychoanalysis, the play offers a unique and engaging experience, shedding light on the mechanisms behind human choices and dilemmas.
