| Extra Info | : | This is a day for learning and developing our understanding of trauma and abuse, and how to care for people in church or related settings in a trauma-informed way. The conference is aimed at clergy, pastors, pastoral care workers, small group leaders, worship leaders or anyone who is interested or has responsibility in caring for others within the church or related settings. The conference will cover topics such as: - Trauma: What is it, how it affects the Mind/Body both Psychologically and Physiologically - Leadership, Trauma and Abuse: How’s your leadership? - Spiritual Abuse: Studies on how it occurs and how to work with it - Medicalisation of Pastoral Care: What can the church offer? - Understanding PTSD, Complex Trauma and Abuse The day will have main speakers, panels and workshops so that you can engage with the questions of trauma and abuse in a safe and thoughtful environment. We will have speakers from Christian Psychological Services London, a team of psychologists, psychotherapists and psychoanalysts trained in secular mainstream institutions but who are also practising Christians. They have been offering therapy, consultations and training to groups, couples and individuals in London over the last Decade. We hope the day will develop your EQ and capacity in helping yourself and others in working with trauma and abuse in your church settings. |
