Event:Frozen in Time: Working with Anxiety through a Body-Based Approach
Venue:Online
Date:10/06/2023
Duration:10:00am - 16:00am BST
Extra Info:Anxiety is widely considered as a psychological or a brain response to real or imagined danger. What happens when we consider our clients’ whole-body experience of anxiety?

During this workshop we will be able to explore the following questions:
- Are you interested in working with anxiety?
- Do you know that anxiety is linked to early relational trauma?
- Are you aware of how anxiety can become encoded in the musculature, influencing movement patterns, posture and impacting close relationships?
- What happens when we consider our clients’ whole-body experience of anxiety?
- Are you interested in increasing your awareness of a somatic approach to anxiety explored through a relational and cultural lens?
- What is a body-based approach in therapeutic practice and how can this method be utilised in your clinical practice?
- Do you want to increase your understanding of how anxiety might show up personally and in the space between person to person?

This workshop will focus on the physiological, embodied experience of anxiety, particularly in terms of sensations, emotions, energy and movement. During this day we will highlight the link to relational trauma and examine how anxiety can impact close relationships.
