Extra Info:Freud was fascinated by the ancient world - and its myths, such as that of Oedipus, have been a source of continuing interest and inspiration to psychoanalysts. This conference, the fourth in the Institute’s series of conferences on the relations between psychoanalysis and different fields of academic study, will explore the continuing connections between classical philosophy and culture and psychoanalytic inquiry and practice. Its speakers are distinguished classical scholars, philosophers and psychoanalysts. The conference will be dialogue between these ways of thinking about human lives, and it is hoped that it will enrich both of them.
