Extra Info | : | A one day conference organised by the Institute of Psychotherapy and disability (IPD) and the Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (APP) based on the critically acclaimed new book 'Intellectual Disability and Psychotherapy: The Theories, Practice and Influence of Valerie Sinason' (Routledge, 2019) and will feature some of the renowned practitioners from that publication. This conference will reflect, explore and celebrate the work of Dr Valerie Sinason, the noted psychoanalyst who has inspired a generation of clinicians, with such pioneering concepts as the ‘Handicapped Smile’ and ‘Secondary Handicap’. Dr Sinason will open the conference with an appreciation of the late Dr. Alan Corbett and his clinical contribution. |
