Extra Info:Speaker, Linda Cundy is an attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapist with a private practice in north London and the West End. She has taught on psychotherapy and counselling trainings for two decades and is an independent trainer specializing in attachment and object relations. She is chair of Hackney Bereavement Service.

“Technology evolved us.” (Archaeologist Timothy Taylor, 2010). We are shaped physically, neurologically, socially and culturally by the tools we create. So how is digital technology altering our self-experience? The nature of our communication and connection to each other? How we raise our children? And what might be the consequences? These questions will be addressed from an attachment perspective in the first part of the day.

Patients talk implicitly and explicitly about the impact of technology on their lives. Meanwhile email, text messaging and Skype, social and professional network sites and online resources have altered our traditional professional practices and boundaries. In the afternoon we will think more particularly about the impact of communication technology in the therapeutic consulting room, again from an attachment perspective.

Come prepared to reflect on the place of digital technology in both your personal and professional life.
