Extra Info:The Book

Prophecy Coles latest book :'The Uninvited Guest from the Unremembered Past' is a book developed from her previous book, 'The Importance of Sibling Relationships'. She says that, if we accept that sibling relationships have an important role in structuring the psyche, then perhaps there are others who also need to be heard'.
She then decided to consider our ancestral history and the role our grandparents might have had upon our parents and this then raised the question as to whether a present neurosis may be carrying the history of an earlier trauma. She explores the part Orestes' ancestral history may have had upon his present agony of mind, in Aeschylus' trilogy. In the same way, there are implication for the 3rd generation of survivors from social and political traumas, such as the Holocaust. She also looks at the research that is being done on the link between neurology and attachment theory. She states that 'it is in the earliest months of life that difficulties between parents and their children may in some cases be seen in terms of ghosts who haunt the present and need to be laid to rest'.
