Towards a comprehensive therapy of schizophrenia

The various treatment methods available for use in schizophrenia are still often not applied in an integrated, comprehensive way. Based on the current concept of schizophrenia as a systemic dysfunction, this book suggests how a comprehensive and planned treatment approach for schizophrenia can be developed. The search for more effective methods of influencing the acute symptoms, course and outcome of schizophrenia is as pressing a task as ever both for research and for clinical practice. Yet, although effective treatment is necessarily comprehensive and multidisciplinary, it involves more than merely combining various modes of intervention.
