About the Author(s)

Ernesto Spinelli has gained an international reputation as a leading contemporary trainer and theorist of existential analysis as applied to psychology and psychotherapy as well as the related arenas of coaching and conflict mediation. He is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and an APECS accredited executive coach and coaching supervisor. In 1999, Ernesto was awarded a Personal Chair as Professor of Psychotherapy, Counselling and Counselling Psychology. In 2000, he was given the BPS Division of Counselling Psychology Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Advancement of the Profession. And in 2019, Ernesto received the BPS Award for Distinguished Contribution to Practice. His widely praised book, Demystifying Therapy is also published by PCCS. Currently, Ernesto maintains a private therapeutic and supervisory practice and provides specialist seminars and masterclasses around the world.

i guess Dr Spinellis idea of therapy fundamentally the act of revealing, reassessing, and reconstructing. This is consistent and has ressurrects Jungs 1961 idea of stages of therapeutic interaction includes confession, elucidation, education and transformation.
