This book reflects the diversity of women's experiences, from the energy and euphoria of Judith Craig's plans for community organisation, through Mary Zaki's dogged persistence between bouts of fury, and Melanie Cunningham's defiant survival of abuse, to Janet Cresswell's ironic observations amid her long battle for liberty. In prose, poetry and letters, they and the other authors express the isolation, frustation and despair that has been part of this experience, but also the purposeful and corageous endurance with which they have fought against their oppresion.
