This volume is the result of a series of interviews which took place in the summer of 1990, when Windy Dryden met with a European academic in the field of psychotherapy. In the opening interview Dryden discusses the personal experiences which drew him to becoming a counsellor. He then goes on to examine the distinctions between counselling and psychotherapy, and to deal with issues surrounding service delivery. Later interviews include an appraisal of Dryden's contribution to rational-emotive therapy and a discussion of eclecticism and integration in counselling. In a conversation directed towards clients, Dryden looks at the issues to take into account when deciding whether or not counselling could be helpful, and how to make the best use of it. A subsequent conversation focuses on the factors involved in therapeutic failure and client deterioration. In the final interview Dryden discusses various personal issues including his goals for the future.
