Accessible and concise view of attachment by and parenting within the wider system

Format: Paperback
I have just finished reading this and thoroughly enjoyed this accessible piece of writing about parenting and attachment.

As a Child Psychotherapist in training, a lot of the content was familiar to me, and it gave me confidence to recognise that I have internalised much of this knowledge. What I really enjoyed, though, was thinking about the content through the eyes of a parent and within the larger systems in which we live, particularly Hearn’s emphasis on our ecological attachments. This is something I have been increasingly aware of, and Hearn brings these ideas together clearly and concisely.

This book is accessible to anyone with an interest in attachment, without requiring any formal training. Its length means it never feels overwhelming, and being broken down into four parts makes it easy to dip in and out of. The vignettes are particularly helpful in bringing the ideas to life.

I highlighted many passages as I was reading and look forward to returning to this book many times over.
