This fascinating book stands out as a treasure trove of clinical and theoretical riches. Danielle Quinodoz navigates through complex clinical problems and thorny theoretical issues with grace and intelligence, in the process revealing an intense commitment to understanding her patients and finding th words ( and emotions ) to touch them. While the present work is concerned with people who suffer from a lack of inner cohesion and a fear of being unable to maintain an internal sense of unity (suffering from heterogeneity), its findings have broader applications for every psychoanalysts daily work.
