Our knowledge systems have been growing towards increasingly isolated islands of specialisation. There is a great need for synthesis, to reveal underlying harmonies and more particularly to derive fundamental principles. Cross fertilisation can lead to new perspectives and deeper insights, towards a more coherent and integrated understanding of and relationship with creation. Physics pursues this goal in terms of a Theory of Everything. But physics doesn’t appear to be able to attain this objective on its own. There is great need for a much broader conceptual framework than we presently have, to bridge across diverse streams of knowledge. This can empower a deeper and more meaningful appreciation of creation and a more effective and responsible interaction with it.

Dr Mollon’s work is to be highly commended for progress achieved in this direction. Physics embraces the material order in creation, while mind and psychology relate to the more human aspects of cognition and behaviour.
