No permission is given by Karnac Books in respect of the
use of any such brand names, product names or titles or copyrights
and such use may constitute an infringement of the holder's
rights.
Karnac Books uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to protect your
credit/debit card information and assist your shopping experience.
However, any losses incurred or sustained by customers who transmit
information by means of email or other internet link shall be
borne solely and exclusively by that customer and in no event
shall any such losses in whole or in part be borne by Karnac
Books. If you are using a public computer, you must sign out
when you have finished shopping.
If you discover that goods have been ordered using your credit/debit
card by someone not authorised to do so, Karnac Books will refund
to you the money it receives provided that:
(a) you inform your credit/debit card company and Karnac Books
of the unauthorised purchase as soon as you discover it; and
(b) you co-operate with your credit/debit card company, Karnac
Books and, if necessary, the police in relation to the unauthorised
use.

All design, text, graphics and the selection or arrangement
thereof are the copyright of Karnac Books. Permission is granted
to electronically copy and print in hard copy portions of
this site for the sole purpose of placing an order with Karnac
Books or using this site as a shopping resource. Any other
use of materials on this site (including reproduction for
purposes other than those noted above and modification, distribution,
or republication) without the prior written permission of
Karnac books is strictly prohibited.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE SUPPLY OF Karnac Books PRODUCTS
THE CONTRACT BETWEEN US
Karnac Books must receive payment of the whole of the price
for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted.
Once payment has been received Karnac Books will confirm that
your order has been accepted by sending an email to you at
the email address you provide in your order form. Karnac Books'
acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding
contract between us.
PRICE
The prices payable for goods that you order is as set out
in our Web site.
You will be required to pay extra for delivery and it might
not be possible for us to deliver to some locations.
WITHDRAWAL BY YOU FROM THE CONTRACT
You may withdraw your order for goods at any time up to the
end of the seventh working day after you make your order even
if you have then already received the goods. You do not need
to give Karnac Books any reason for withdrawing your order
nor will you have to pay any penalty.
The only circumstances in which you cannot withdraw your
order are where you have taken the goods you have ordered
(or the ones in relation to which you want to withdraw) out
of the sealed package in which they were delivered.
To withdraw your order you must notify Karnac Books in writing
at the address set out in the Karnac Books contact details
page of this Web site.
If you have received the goods before you withdraw your order
then, unless you have lost your right to withdraw because
you have taken the goods out of their sealed package, you
must send them back to the Karnac Books contact address at
your own cost and risk. If you withdraw your order but Karnac
Books has already processed the goods for delivery you must
not unpack the goods when they are received by you and you
must send the goods back to Karnac Books at the Karnac Books
contact address at your own cost and risk as soon as possible.
Once you have notified Karnac Books that you are withdrawing
your order, any sum debited to Karnac Books from your credit/debit
card will be re-credited to your account as soon as possible
and in any event within 30 days of your order PROVIDED THAT
the goods in question are returned by you and received by Karnac
Books in the condition they were in when delivered to you.
AVAILABILITY OF GOODS YOU ORDER
If Karnac Books has insufficient stock to deliver the goods
ordered by you, any sum debited by Karnac Books from your credit/debit
card will be re-credited to your account and Karnac Books will
notify you by email at the address given by you in your order
form. The refund will be made as soon as possible and in any
event within 30 days of your order. Karnac Books will not be
obliged to offer any additional compensation for disappointment
suffered.
DELIVERY OF GOODS TO YOU
Karnac Books will deliver the goods ordered by you to the
address you give Karnac Books for delivery at the time you
make your order.
You will become the owner of the goods you have ordered when
they have been delivered to you. Once goods have been delivered
to you they will be held at your own risk and Karnac Books
will not be liable for their loss or destruction.
LIABILITY
If the goods Karnac Books delivers are not what you ordered
or are damaged or defective or the delivery is of an incorrect
quantity, Karnac Books shall have no liability to you unless
you notify Karnac Books in writing at the Karnac Books contact
address of the problem within 10 working days of the delivery
of goods in question.
If you do not receive goods ordered by you within 30 days of
the date on which we despatched them to you (with the exception
of items sent via surface post), Karnac Books shall have no
liability to you unless you notify Karnac Books in writing at
the Karnac Books contact address of the problem within 40 days
of the date on which you ordered the goods.
If you notify a problem to Karnac Books under this condition,
Karnac Books' only obligation will be, at its option:-
to make good any shortage or non-delivery;
to replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective;
or
to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question
in whatever way Karnac Books chooses.
Karnac Books will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential
loss or damage arising out of any problem you notify to Karnac
Books under this condition and Karnac Books shall have no liability
to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to
refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question
under the paragraph above.
Nothing in this condition is, however, intended to limit
any rights you might have as a consumer under applicable local
law that may not be excluded nor in any way to exclude or
limit Karnac Books' liability to you for any death or personal
injury resulting from its negligence.
FORCE MAJEURE
Karnac Books shall have no liability to you for any failure
to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so
or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused
by any event or circumstance beyond its reasonable control.
INVALIDITY
If any part of these conditions is unenforceable (including
any provision in which Karnac Books excludes its liability
to you) the enforceability of any other part of these conditions
will not be affected.
GOVERNING LAW
The contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted
in accordance with English law, and the English courts shall
have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us.
ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These terms and conditions, together with the current Karnac
Books Web site prices, delivery details and Karnac Books contact
details, set out the whole of our agreement relating to the
supply of the goods to you by Karnac Books.
These terms and conditions cannot be varied except in writing
signed by a director of Karnac Books. In particular nothing
said by any sales person on behalf of Karnac Books should
be understood as a variation of these terms and conditions
or as an authorised representation about the nature or quality
of any goods offered for sale by Karnac Books. Karnac Books
shall have no liability for any such representation being
untrue or misleading.
INTERPRETATION
In these terms and conditions:-
"Karnac Books" means Karnac Books Ltd.,
any connected organisation that actually supplies goods ordered
by you and any successor to its business;
"working day" means every day of a calendar year
apart from weekends and statutory and public holidays;
"us" means Karnac Books and you together; and
"you" and "your" means the person ordering
goods under these terms and conditions.
RETURNS
If you have bought a book online and would like to return it,
you can do so by returning the item to our mail order department
or in person at any of our stores. All you need is the book
and your Karnac Books receipt. As long as it is in the condition
in which it was received, we will willingly give you a Karnac
Books credit note to match the value of the book on the receipt.
The value of this credit will be deducted from the value of
your next order.
Alternatively, we will refund you in full for the value of the
returned goods.
* If the book is damaged when you receive it, we will fully
refund your credit/debit card to match the value of the book
on the receipt, including the postage.
* Please note that Karnac Books cannot refund postage.
