A guide to the seminal ideas and practices of the South American psychoanalysts who made theoretical and clinical contributions to psychoanalysis.

Reviews and Endorsements

'Nydia and Alberto Pieczanski made a thoughtful and careful collection of papers by the better known South American authors. The reader will be acquainted with the most valuable psychoanalytic contributions in the region.'
- Horacio Etchegoyen. Former President of the International Psychoanalytical Association; author of The Fundamentals of Psychoanalytic Technique

'The Editors have produced a highly relevant book. The carefully chosen seminal papers capture the many developments in the history of psychoanalysis in South America. The presentation of the chapters benefit from clear introductions by contemporary analysts. The reader will have the opportunity of appreciating innovative ideas and concepts on a wide range of psychoanalytic subjects that are still highly significant for the development and understanding of both theory and clinical practice.'
- Catalina Bronstein. Training Analyst of the British Psycho-Analytical Society; editor of Kleinian Theory, a Contemporary Perspective

'This overdue anthology must be greatly welcomed. It has been edited with great competence and moving passion by Nydia and Alberto Pieczanski, two Argentinean psychoanalysts.'
- Riccardo Steiner. Member and Honorary Archivist of the British Psychoanalytical Society; co-Editor of: The Freud-Klein Controversies: 1941-45
